What is KRX? (Hungarian electronic delivery container)

KRX is a Hungarian electronic delivery container — a ZIP-based package used for official correspondence that can hold several independently signed documents. Validating a KRX means unpacking it and validating each enclosed document's signatures separately against the trusted lists.

Why it needs special handling

A KRX is not a single signed file but a structured envelope (with metadata and a payload of one or more signed documents). Generic PDF or ASiC validators do not understand its layout, so a pre-processor has to extract each document before standard eIDAS validation runs on it.

This matters in the Hungarian and wider CEE market, where official documents are routinely exchanged as KRX rather than plain signed PDFs.
