What is ASiC-E? (Associated Signature Container, Extended)

ASiC-E (ETSI EN 319 162) is an Associated Signature Container in its extended form: a ZIP package that holds one or more data files together with the CAdES or XAdES signatures that cover them. It keeps a multi-file dataset and its proofs of signing in a single, portable archive.

ASiC-E vs ASiC-S

ASiC-E can carry multiple files and multiple signatures, with each signature covering a defined set of files. ASiC-S is the simple variant for a single data object. Both are just ZIP files with a defined internal layout.
